Ford Minority Dealers Association Strengthens Community Ties with Youth Outreach
At Ford Minority Dealers Association (FMDA), community involvement is central to our mission. Each year during our annual conferences, we purposefully engage with local youth organizations to create meaningful connections between our members and the future leaders of tomorrow. These moments offer opportunities and experiences that many young people might not otherwise have access to.
A highlight of this year’s conference was our partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Palm Beach and Martin Counties. Local youth joined our boating excursion—an experience that left a lasting impression on both our participants and our FMDA members.
“Seeing our members mentor young people in real time was a highlight that underscored the importance of community outreach in our mission,” said A.V. Fleming, FMDA Executive Director.
The partnership was just as impactful for the youth and their mentors.
“Thank you so much for including our Bigs and Littles in your conference! They had a wonderful time and were so grateful,” said Katie Knapfel, Vice President of Programs at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Palm Beach and Martin Counties.
One mentor shared their personal gratitude:
“Melissa and I got very lucky this weekend, as we received two extra seats for the boat ride. Mrs. Dee and her team were extremely warm and welcoming. Melissa really enjoyed this experience, and we both learned that we don’t get what we don’t ask for. Please send my sincere thank you to the Ford team for their attention and hospitality.”
The FMDA is committed to continuing these valuable outreach efforts at future conferences. By opening doors and creating shared experiences, we are not only enriching the lives of young people—we’re also strengthening the legacy of leadership within our own dealer network.
